Local choir raises funds for local charity – Radio Suffolk 12.03.24

The Belstead Singers, meet every Tuesday evening to sing a wide range of music and have fun. After perfecting a programme, they visit local care homes to bring joy and smiles to the residents and staff, as well as staging two concerts each year in May and December.

Each occasion provides the opportunity for the audiences to donate towards the choir's chosen charity of the year. In 2023, that charity was Lighthouse Women's Aid and the choir were delighted to raise an amazing total of £1,725 which was presented by the Belstead Singers conductor Jenny Jones, to the Lighthouse Business Co-ordinator Deb Johnson. The money will be used to fund much needed support and help in the community.

This year the choir will be raising funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance and are already hard at work with a programme that includes Andrew Lloyd Webber, Bruno Mars, Abba and a composition by a choir member, Joy Byford.
